Appalachianology: Kitchens & Gardens
June 6 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

June 6, 2021 | 1:00pm – 4:00pm | Free Admission
Join us in the new outdoor kitchen venue at Evergreen for traditional Appalachian recipe demos! The new outdoor kitchen features a firebrick oven made from local mount savage bricks housed in a new pavilion adjacent to the historic barn. The demos will include pickling and cucumber lemonade. Visit Evergreen’s beautiful gardens and finish the day with our art director and local artist Maggie Pratt, who will provide demonstration and direction for participants in botanical illustration.
Victory Gardens will be available for pickup! Pre-order online – click HERE. Victory Gardens were introduced during WWI when similar issues existed. We have created 3 packages that allow families to grow food even with limited space or without an established backyard garden, no experience required. All three packages contain a total of 12 plants, family-friendly recipes, and growing instructions.
