SUMMARY:Trailblazing 250 Guided Hikes
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \n \nTrailblazing 250\nSaturday June 13th\nLace up your hiking boots and hit the trails on Saturday\, June 13th as we unveil a portion of the new Forest Evolution Trail! We’ll have two guided hiking options: an easy stroll down the Coal Trail and a more moderate/difficult (based 1-2 inclines) trek on down Grime’s Gulley. These interpretive hikes will highlight historical and environmental features along the trails! \nThe Coal Trail begins at the Coal Camp (adjacent to the large parking lot)\, in the location of the original coal mining camp\, with Museums and Exhibits detailing coal mining history on the property and in Allegany County. Follow the original trail\, which was once was lined with railroad tracks which transported coal across the property. \nGrime’s Gulley winds through the forest\, which was once agricultural fields\, and loops past various point of interest\, including a stone wall which was once used to divide the fields. \nMeeting Locations \nEasy hike: Meet in the Coal Camp next to the Miner’s Mule Stable @ 10:00 a.m. \nModerate/Difficult hike: Meet at the Trailhead at the far end of the large parking lot @ 10:00 a.m. \n
